Apologetics volunteer team
Final plans are coming together for the Bob Hartman International Ministries apologetics volunteer team that will be in eastern Hungary Sept 30 - Oct 6. Pray for good attendance at the Oct 2 - 4 apologetics training seminar in Debrecen, and that attendees will use what they learn to better share the truths of the gospel message.
Ask that the Lord will provide many opportunities for the volunteer team to share their faith with those they meet on campus and around the city, and that local believers will go with them to the streets to see this outreach modeled--and then to put aside their fears and join in the conversation!

Training youth to serve
Last week some really cool young guys, "G" and "M," came over to our place for dinner and for training in how to lead simple, inductive Bible studies. This is part of a partnership project with Grain Game and the Baptist church in Karcag, with the goal of providing the next step for young people as they age out of the regular Grain Game Bible camps.
Praise the Lord, it was truly encouraging to see these young guys eager to learn how to serve in this way, to make a difference for good in the lives of others! Pray that the Lord will use G and M to reach many youth with the gospel, and also to pass on this training to others.
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." I Timothy 4:12 (NIV)

40 Days of Prayer for European Peoples
This special prayer emphasis begins today! Print the prayer calendar and join us in lifting up the peoples of Europe. Our copy is posted on our refrigerator where I am sure I'll see it many times every day (probably more times than I should.) ;-)
Thank you for your prayers for Hungary and for all of Europe - so many here have never heard of the hope they can have in Christ. Of course lost people are everywhere, so don't forget to share the love of Jesus in your own neighborhood, too.

Volunteer urgently needed
There is an urgent need for a native English speaker to teach
beginner-level English students grades K-4 at a Christian school in
Debrecen, Hungary. (Note: this is for the Fall 2017 semester.) The teacher need not have a teaching certificate,
but should be able to teach the alphabet, basic words, songs, etc. The
regular teacher is dealing with a serious medical situation and is
expected to be out at least three months. For more information please
contact us. This is the school's website; it's in Hungarian, but you can see photos.
Even if you can't help by teaching, please forward to anyone who might be able to help, and please pray for the teacher and her family during this time of difficulty. Thank you!
